DR. UMA UKPAI GLOWS AT 80 BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

It was a landmark converge of outstanding personalities, as the revered global gospel impact maker, Rev’d Dr. Uma Ukpai, President of Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA) marked his 80th birthday anniversary January 9th, 2025 at the International Christian Worship Centre, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

It was most colourful and exciting moment to behold the sons, friends and associates of Dr. Uma Ukpai gathered to give the world acclaim impact-making evangelist a toast of his eightieth year anniversary, amidst top political and business elites and top movers of the Nigerian gospel sector, including Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno Ph.D, his predecessor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, former Senate President of Nigeria, Senator Agim Pius Agim and a host of glitzers to lift the brows of the man who has deeply affected the world with his evangelistic and miracle crusades phenomena.

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God upped the ante when he declared how phenomenal Uma Ukpai’s life and times have impacted positively the globe, submitting that only in life here after that he will know how much debt of gratitude the world owes him for his highly successful and penetrative gospel preaching life. Adeboye who shared how the life, strength and focus of the celebrator has been a big lesson for him, thanked Papa Uma Ukpai for exemplary leadership which taught him how to activate God’s awesome presence through worship and strength through very personal difficult moment in life, such losing your children, yet still finding courage to preach in the midst of trial.

Pastor Adeboye, himself an octogenarian, however, assured Rev’d Dr Uma Ukpai of many more years, however, he averred the number of years he desire to spend is based on his determination.
Exhorting from Psalm 91:1,14-16, Pastor Adeboye assured Christians that those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High will always find protection and longevity as they abide under the shadow of the Almighty

He felicited Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai for joining the octogenarians club, and observed that every man has an appointment to keep with God, and must be prepared for the appointment which could come sooner than expected.
In his goodwill message, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, Ph.D, praised Papa Uma Ukpai as a gift of God to Akwa Ibom State, and that through his evangelistic ministries, Akwa Ibom State has enjoyed global reckoning as Papa Uma Ukpai has made far-reaching impact globally.

Other Christian fathers, alongside Pastor Adeboye were Bishop Mike Okonkwo, Pastor Ayo Oritsajafor, Rev’d Dr Felix Omobude, Apostle Zilly Aggrey, Rev’d Ntia I. Ntia, Prelate Prof. Isaiah Issong, Bishop Chris Nyong, Apostle Prof. Ime George, among hundreds of clergymen and women from different parts of the world.

“I am here to join the Body of Christ to celebrate a great man of God on this joyous occasion. The theme of this celebratory event- the public lecture, is “The man from Ohafia” which is quite fitting given our father’s love for his place of birth and the pride the people of Ohafia feel about him.
“But if I may add a corollary to the theme, I would say “The Man from Ohafia and God’s Gift to Akwa Ibom.

For the most part if not the entirety of our dear father’s life as an evangelist, and a Christian warrior, Akwa Ibom
has been a fabric of his life. He has projected our dear State to all corners of the world through his evangelistic pursuits,” he added.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Uma Ukpai 80th Birthday celebration, Dr. Sylvanus Ukafia, setting the tone for the occasion, said, “As I prepared for this moment, I asked myself: How do you summarize the life of a man whose story is etched in the hearts of millions? How do you set the tone for the birthday celebration of someone who has spent decades setting the tone for our spiritual journeys?”

“We are here to celebrate 80 glorious years of life, purpose, and divine impact. Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai is not just a man of God; he is a man from God—sent to be a torchbearer, a chain breaker, and a deliverer of hope to generations. His life is an unending sermon of faith, courage, and divine encounters.”

” Through his ministry, the blind have seen, the lame have walked, the broken have been healed, and the lost have found salvation. Let me make this real for you: In 1985, during a crusade in Aba, a man born blind received his sight— one of the many moments in his amazing ministry that left an indelible mark on everyone present. And who can forget the countless families restored, the hearts healed, and the nations revived under his ministry? These are not just testimonies; they are the footprints of a life dedicated to God’s glory.”
The 80th birthday celebration wrapped up with a banquet at Government House, where guests were treated to assorted delicacies, wines and supple music to complement the joyous atmosphere.
