APOSTLE DR. SAMUEL EFFIONG ON THE GLOBAL PODIUM, HOSTS UYO NIGHT OF THE SPIRIT
Story By Ima Nkanta

Apostle Dr. Samuel Effiong is one of the global impact makers to watch. On June 12, the world watched him as he spoke powerfully to millions through the statewide prayer summit organized by the Government of Akwa Ibom State, where Effiong featured as one of the speakers on the theme, “And Kings Shall Come To The Brightness of Your Dawn,” (Isaiah 60:3), held at the International Christian
Worship Centre, Uyo. During the ministration, he emphatically charged Akwaibomites to think progressively and act progressively. Apostle Samuel Effiong has cut his teeth in the many years of quiet but rewarding service to God and humanity.

He is one of the living witnesses of the trans-generational unction of late Archbishop Benson Idahosa, whose graces moulded him into the preaching ministry.
Serving in the backgrounds under Archbishop Benson Idahosa and Revd Ntia I. Ntia thoroughly
furnished him for the global podium.

He is multi-skilled, with unquenchable thirst for knowledge for more discoveries through research. Said he: “One day, I was hungry for more because I read a lot of books about great men like Smith Wigglesworth, Watchman Nee, Charles Spurgeon, Benny Hinn, I pursued them by reading so much about them, and I wanted more. So, I said to myself, “There must be more about God than normal.” So, I continued praying and studying. Then one night after a seven day fasting, studying and praying; I was in the bed meditating, suddenly I saw my door flung open on its own.

I saw Jesus standing at the door with a glowing bright light all around the place He was standing. The rays of the light moved into my room towards me. In my excitement, I wanted to run to Him but I couldn’t move, I was transfixed by His presence, I was so filled with joy. After a while, He stretched His right hand
towards me, and a beam of bright light moved from His hand towards me and I was like electrocuted; shaking in the bed. The light began to travel back into his hand, but the impression was still strong on me. It was such an encounter that changed my entire world.”

“So nobody can tell me that there’s no God. Nobody can tell me that Jesus is not alive. I have encountered him. That’s why my life is different. That’s why my ministry is different. You can’t have such encounter and then say there’s no God. The problem with those who make noise and tell stories is that they are lacking in power.” Apostle Dr. Samuel Effiong is passionate about youth development, and has lined various activities in each season to reach out to youths, encourage them through direct sponsorship of many in education and career.

His zeal for building youths stemmed from his belief that for the youth to excel in life and ministry, a supportive foundation must be laid. His words: “The message I have for the young people of this generation is that the best season their lives is their youthful season. Once you’ve lost it, you’ve lost everything. Because if the foundation be destroyed, there’s nothing the righteous man
can do.”

Explaining further, he stated that it is the depth of a foundation that determines the height and durability of a building. Hence, his calling, amongst others, is to help the youths lay a deep and solid foundation for future greatness and stability of youths. “The foundation determines the height, the strength, the solidity and the durability of a building. The foundational stage for every young person is their youthful age. Find God now or you’ll cry the rest of your life. I found him as a child.

Last february, he held Uyo Night of the Spirit at the Ibom Hall, where youth filled up the space.
