PRELATE ISAIAH ISSONG CHARGES PASTORS AND CHURCH WORKERS ON PURPOSEFUL LIFE

The Vice Chairman I of Akwa Ibom State Christian Leadership Advisory Council (AKSCLAC), Prelate Prof. Isaiah Issong charged Church leaders to ensure that their lives make impact and meaning in the lives of people around them this year, in other for them to become relevance in the society.

Issong, who is also the Prelate of Believers Assembly (Evangelical) Nigeria, BAN, made this call during the first enlarged General Church Council of the mission. He called on pastors and church workers who constitute a major workforce of the church, to strive for excellence by being intentional about their approaches in demonstrating care, love and warmth of Christ amongst people in their communities.
His words: “I hope the Spirit that brings you will keep you serviceable and responsible for God’s work this year as never before. Receive multiplied grace as you have come to the other (better), side” in this year with renewed vigor, energy, thought and faith to do God’s work God’s way this year.”

Speaking to an audience of over 500 ministers and church workers of BAN, who attended the mission’s General Council meeting from across the country, the prelate who apprised them of the mission’s focus for 2025 stated: “Our Mission Focus this year is: Making Christianity Meaningful And Purposeful,” expatiated that their core value was “helping people experience the transformative power of Christianity in a way that’s authentic, relevant, and life-changing.”

According to him, BAN which is a fully Pentecostal, charismatic and evangelical mission, now in her 55th year, aims to extend the message of the Gospel to people in communities by adopting a more conversational approach that recognizes “people’s backgrounds and experiences. To achieve this goal, he said pastors must learn to “focus on building relationships through relatable evangelism.”
Others include; Community engagement; building bridges with local communities through service projects, outreach initiatives, and partnerships that demonstrate Christ’s love.

Discipleship and mentorship; providing guidance, support and accountability to help new believers grow in their faith and become disciple-makers themselves and addressing real-life issues through tackling pressing concerns like mental health, relationships, and social justice from a biblical perspective, showing how Christianity offers meaningful solutions.
Emphasizing the 2025 prophetic declaration of the mission, “Crossing Over To The Other Better Side; Prelate Isaiah Issong admonished them to exercise faith and hope in their journey this year, as crossing to the other better side of life requires courageous service.

He, however, noted that the new year comes with opportunities and challenges; making it imperative for believers to be innovative and adapt to changes as necessary; collaborate with others to foster unity and mutual support, and persevere through challenges by trusting that “God is working all things together for our good and his glory.”

I hope the Spirit that brings you will keep you serviceable and responsible for God’s work this year as never before. Receive multiplied grace as you have come to the other (better), side” in this year with renewed vigor, energy, thought and faith to do God’s work God’s way this year.”
