JOSEPHINE EBE EMERGES 3RD CHAIRPERSON OF SWAN, UYO CHAPTER

The mail bag of Mrs. Josephine Ebe has continued to be inundated with goodwill/congratulatory messages on her investiture and subsequent investiture as the 3rd Chairperson of Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN), Uyo Chapter.

At the event held over the weekend at the workers solidarity center behind Akwa Ibom state secretariat, the Lutheran Church Nigeria in her congratulatory message addressed to the celebrant expressed delight to be part of the epochal event.

Signed by the National President/Archbishop, His Grace The Most Rev Dr. Christian Ekong, the message informed that he and indeed the entire church is proud of Mrs. Ebe’s attainment, describing it as a great privilege to witness the investiture which came as a result of hard work and dedication.

He prayed Almighty God to guide and direct her in the discharge of the tasks of her office and give her the grace and wisdom for more distinguished services such as the scholarship award and establishment of financial literacy and entrepreneurial club in secondary schools in the state.

Rev Dr. David Inyang Imuk, Rector, Lutheran Seminary, Obot Idim Ibesikpo, who represented the National President in a brief exhortation drawn from a single verse of the Bible, harped on essence of light to human existence/development.

Describing the celebrant as a simple and devoted member of Lutheran Church Nigeria who never failed in any position of responsibility in the church, believed that she will do well and take Society of women accountants of Nigeria, Uyo Chapter to greater heights.

“Mrs Josephine Ebe is a strong and devoted member of Lutheran church I can vouch will perform well as 3rd chairperson of SWAN.

She has never been found wanting in any position she held in the church. I don’t think this one will be an exception,” he maintained.

Speaking at the event, SWAN National Chairperson, Mrs Nwamara Nnaji, FCA who said Akwa Ibom Chapter as one of the twenty five chapters in the country, pledged to assist the chapter to attend to its core activity such as the scholarship award and provision of succor to the sick and underprivileged of the society.

She urged the Ebe’s led executive to be resilient and result oriented such that at the end of the two year tenure the results would be feasible for everyone to glean. The 2023-2025 executive committee who were inaugurated by the 3rd Chapter Chairperson as her maiden assignment included Mrs Mbuotidem Udoete -Vice Chairperson, Irene Udom -General Secretary and Sylvia Cletus George -Assistant secretary.

Others were Enobong Akpanumoh -Membership Secretary , Glory Ufot Etuk -Treasurer, Ofonime Ndem -Financial secretary, Emem Etukudo- Welfare Secretary, Akon Evans Udo- Publicity Secretary, Chioma Igwe- Ex-officio and the last not the least Victoria Ibanga- Ex-officio.

In her acceptance speech, the 3rd Akwa Ibom SWAN chapter chairperson promised to implement the traditional chapter activities that had predated her advent as chairperson.  They were scholarship award, Prizes to best secondary school graduating students in accounting, quiz competitions, training and empowerment of members and young girls.

To cap it all, she promised to bring a unique innovation by sponsoring formation of a financial literacy and entrepreneurship club in secondary schools, amongst others. 

Hear her: ” Having noticed that the Catch them young career talk needs continuous follow up to achieve sustained interest and more enlightenment in schools visited, the chapter intends to sponsor a financial literacy and entrepreneurship club in secondary schools to be known as YOUNG VALUE CREATORS. “We believe YVC project will not only help sell ICAN brand to the students and teachers, but will also aid and inspire students to be innovative, creative, exposed to the different career paths within the accounting profession, develop an enterprising spirit, and be financially literate.”
