Stories by Eme Arthur – Oso
In commemoration of the 61st birthday of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, PhD, a powerful movement of five distinguished Senior Pastors collectively known as the P5 Family—embarked on a multi-day school outreach programme themed “Raising Purposeful Leaders Through Education and Empowerment.” This inspiring initiative aimed to connect with students across Akwa Ibom State, empowering them through spiritual guidance, leadership principles, and civic responsibility.
The P5 Family, composed of Reverend Dr. Ade Israel (team leader), Prophet Dr. Ambassador William Mbuk, Apostle Dr. Samuel Efiong, Reverend Peter Lugard Omiunu, and Apostle Dr. Hope Wills, visited six schools over three days, delivering transformative messages inspired by the life and leadership of Governor Umo Eno. At each school, the ministers brought not only words of encouragement but also spiritual insight, leadership wisdom, and modest gifts to support students’ educational journeys.
On the first day, the outreach began at St. Francis Secondary School, Ikot Ataku/Akpadem, Okon Eket, where Prophet Dr. Amb. William Mbuk spoke on the theme: “From Marketplace to State House: A Story of Diligence and Divine Promotion.” He emphasized the value of hard work, humility, and divine elevation, using the Governor’s life as a living testimony.

Later that day at Community Secondary Commercial School, Ikot Uso Ekong, Eket, Apostle Dr. Hope Wills delivered a compelling talk titled “Building People, Not Just Projects: His Excellency’s Investment in Education and Youth.” He applauded the Governor’s people-first leadership style and the state’s focus on nurturing the next generation.
On the second day, at Independent High School, Ukana, Apostle Dr. Samuel Efiong addressed the theme “Overcoming Challenges: His Excellency’s Testimony of Resilience and Hope.” His message inspired students to stay determined and faithful, no matter the obstacles in life.
At Lutheran High School, Ikot Obong Erong, Ikot Ekpene, Reverend Dr. Bolaji Ade Israel spoke on “The Power of Vision: Lessons from His Excellency’s Journey.” He highlighted how vision, when paired with integrity and commitment, can shape both personal destiny and public service.
On the final day, at Methodist Secondary School, Etoi, Reverend Peter Lugard Omiunu inspired students with his session on “Faith in Governance: Upholding Godly Values in Public Leadership.” He challenged young minds to embrace faith-driven leadership rooted in honesty and compassion.
The grand finale was held at Uyo High School, Uyo, where Reverend Dr. Bolaji Ade Israel returned to speak on “Living the ARISE Mandate: Principles for Personal and Civic Transformation.” His message encouraged students to live out the values embodied in the ARISE agenda: accountability, responsibility, integrity, service, and excellence.
The Vision and Mission of the P5 Family
The outreach was deeply anchored in the vision of the P5 Family, to build a community where individuals grow spiritually, engage politically, and are empowered to fulfill their divine purpose, thereby shaping a prosperous future for all. Their mission is clear: to inspire, educate, and equip individuals with spiritual depth, political awareness, and personal development tools, enabling them to become agents of positive change in their communities and beyond.
As Prophet Mbuk explained during the outreach:
“P5, as a family, is more than a group of pastors, it’s a transformative movement. Our number one focus is spiritual growth. But we also believe that political awareness and personal empowerment are key to raising purposeful leaders. That is why we’re here—to celebrate the Governor’s life by sowing seeds into yours.” Across all six schools, principals, teachers, and students expressed overwhelming gratitude for the visit. They thanked the P5 Family and Governor Umo Eno for their benevolence and dedication to educational development.
“This outreach has left a lasting impact on our school community,” said Pastor Emmanuel Udo, the Principal of Lutheran High achool “We are thankful for this rare blend of spiritual mentorship and educational support.” The P5 Family School Outreach was more than a birthday celebration, it was a mission-driven investment in the future of Akwa Ibom’s youth, proving that faith, vision, and leadership can indeed shape a better tomorrow.on.
