PFN REFUTES MEDIA REPORTS ON UMO ENO

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has described as fabrication and falsehood, the news story purporting that it was holding prayers in favour of one of its members as successor for 2023, Pastor Umo Eno.
In an enquiry by QuestNews 24 to confirm or ascertain the veracity of the story Tuesday by INK Portal newspaper in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State PFN Chairman, Bishop Emmanuel Etim and PFN State Secretary, Apostle Nseabasi Udo Okoh separately denounced the report, dubbing it as fabricated lies.
Reacting to the story, the PFN top leadership appealed to the public to discountenance such stories as motives behind them were unclear and dubious, stating that at no time did Pastor Umo Eno or anyone contacted PFN for prayers as governorship aspirant.
The PFN Chairman, however, reiterated the organization’s stance on 2023, which he said was to continue to pray to God to guide the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, to make the best choice of a successor, as inspired by God.
He said: “Such a story is the work of mischief makers, who goal is to cause discord. For us at the PFN, our members are aware of our stance on the 2023 elections.’
Restating the PFN’s position on 2023, he said: “We have made it abundantly clear that PFN will continue to pray and wait for God to reveal the likely successor, and whoever Governor Udom Emmanuel will present as his successor, we will support and pray for peaceful transition. For now, we are waiting for God’s direction for the state, ” Bishop Emmanuel Etim stated.
He cautioned the media to seek the truth always by verifying whatever information obtained, as rushing to the press with it could damage the integrity of the media.
According to the PFN Chairman, it was abysmal for anyone to make such insinuation and linking PFN to it as such stories could mislead the public over the stance of PFN, hence the rebuttal, he said, was necessary.
PFN National, according the State Secretary, will be holding a Statewide crusade in Akwa Ibom State next month. He explained that the programme was organized by the PFN national body led by Bishop Dr. Wale Oke and not Dr. Omobude as was falsely reported. Pa Omobude, he said, had since ended his tenure and handed over successfully to Bishop Oke.
He charged the media against misinformation, as it was preposterous and divisive.
The forthcoming crusade, according to him, will hold in all the states of the federation with Akwa Ibom State, taking the first shot next month.
He described as untrue the news report linking the crusade to any succession plan, noting that the PFN National was concerned about the spate of insecurity in the nation and was planning the crusade to mount up raise up prayer altars and make intercessions to God for answers to the many woes besetting the nation in the Buhari administration.
