ROTARY CLUB SURPRISES UMO ENO AT 34TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
The Rotary Club of Eket pulled a surprise at her PHF, Pastor Umo Eno and wife, Pastor Mrs. Patience Eno; hosting them at their 34th wedding anniversary. The unscheduled event held during Rotary Club’s fellowship at Eket at the weekend.
Although the usual fanfare and teeming followership of such occasion were absent due to the Covid19 restrictions, memories of over three decades of adorable marriage of the hospitality magnet and philanthropist, Pastor Umo Eno and his wife, were relieved; with encomiums on the couple for demonstrating strong character and family bond.
The expression of deep joy and satisfaction was limitless as the couple, now grandparents, alongside few family members exuded gratitude for God’s benevolence.
As someone who has provided succour to many and supported various philanthropic organizations, particularly through the Rotary Club of Eket District 9142 where he has made a mark in his social services to the society.
Beside making impact in the hospitality business where his organization, Royalty Group, has given direct employment to over five hundred persons in over 23 years of operations, Umo Eno is an incurable philanthropist; helping indigent students with scholarship, shelters for widows, regular donations of funds to support ongoing businesses, particularly small and medium scale (SMEs) enterprises.
He is also the convener of Ignite Business Summit; an entrepreneurial and leadership mentoring hub that provides training and empowerment for young graduates budding entrepreneurs.
Few Rotarians at the occasion brought alive the humble lifestyle of Umo Eno, especially as it reflects in his relationship with others and service to his customers at Royalty Hotels, Eket, where he has been seen severally serving foods to guests and washing dishes; regardless of his achievements in his career and social status as a multiple Paul Harris Fellow (PHF).
Eulogizing the philanthropic coverage of Umo Eno, Rotary Club of Eket president, Mr. Sunny Iteun said, on behalf of his council and members remarked: “The love of numbers is the true test for sustainability. 34 years didn’t come cheap.
It’s a heap of hard work, tolerance, love and much more chemistry that paved way for more than a generation of legacies of lives well lived. We are proud beneficiaries of your essence, your family’s resourcefulness and business stride. Have an awesome marriage anniversary. Congratulations.”
Rotary Club is an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian service and to advance goodwill and peace around the world. It is a non-political and non-religious organization open to all.
Umo Eno is the founder of Royalty Group of hospitality companies in Akwa Ibom State. He resigned as Chief Executive Officer when he was appointed by the Akwa Ibom State Government as the Executive Director, Agricultural Investments Directorate, Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation, Uyo.
He is now coordinating the State’s agricultural Investments for the purpose of turning them into actual profit-making business entities. Currently, he is embarking on the state-wide enumeration of farmers.
