APOSTLE SAMUEL EFFIONG INVADES UYO CITY WITH UNUSUAL UNCTION
Narrates His Encounter With Jesus Christ

In a bold approach to Gospel spreading beyond borders, Apostle Samuel Effiong, the senior pastor of Glory World International, Eket, Akwa Ibom State, is painting the entire city of Uyo red in preparations for a mega gospel gathering this February ending.

The event which is planned to hold at the prestigious Ibom Hall, will flag-off a series of impactful gatherings targeting the massive haul of young people into the boat of salvation.
Speaking with our correspondent in Eket, Apostle Samuel Effiong, who is extremely passionate about the advancement of the youth, believes that helping them embrace the message of salvation is the surest way.
Lamenting the seemingly helplessness of youths in the face of difficulties which have diverted the attention of youths from noble pursuit to filthy lucre, the clergyman stated that until youths return to Christ, it would be difficult for them to experience restoration and the kind of personal and professional growth the youth so eagerly pursue.

Providing a veritable spiritual atmosphere that will encourage the youths to troupe out and embrace the message of salvation for total turnaround in their lives, is why the Uyo Night of the Spirit has come to Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom State.

He has extended invitations to celebrated gospel singers, ministers and speakers who will connect with the youths effectively for the kind of impact God has intended for the audience.
Although he has been holding large-crowd meetings for the youths in Eket, with trails of testimonies heralding such meetings, the Uyo Night of the Spirit will be a watershed gathering that will impact the entire State from the capital. His mission at the State Capital is to shout his God-given mega vision at the rooftop of Akwa Ibom State, so the youth, in particular, could be reached in their thousands and helped to shape them into what God has for this generation.

Apostle Samuel Effiong is one minister who has had a genuine encounter with God for the present age. Recounting his personal experience with divinity, he said: “One day, I was hungry for more of God, because I read a lot of books about great men of God and their different encounters with God. Men like Smith Wigglesworth, Watchman Nee, Charles Spurgeon, Benny Hinn have occupied my reading time. I have been pursuing them by reading their books about what God used them in their days to accomplish.
I wanted more, and the more I studied the more the hunger to go for more of God than what I knew.

I said to myself, ‘There must be more about God than normal.’ So, this hunger led me into praying for hours many times. But one specific encounter that turned my life around was when I took a seven day fast for more of God. Then in one of the nights, while praying and asking God for an encounter, so he could use me for my generation, I rounded off the prayers after midnight, then laid on bed meditating with my doors closed.

Suddenly I saw my door flung open on its own; I saw the Lord Jesus Christ standing at the door with a glowing bright light all around the place. From where he stood, the light from him shone into my room and towards me. In my excitement and joy, I wanted to run to Him, but I couldn’t move, I was transfixed by His presence, I was so filled with joy such as I cannot exactly describe.

After a while, He stretched His right hand towards me, a beam of bright light moved from His hand towards me and I was like electrocuted, as I shook uncontrollably on the bed. The light began to travel back into his hand, but the impression was still burning on my heart. It was such an encounter that changed my entire life. So nobody can tell me there’s no God, nobody can tell me Jesus is not alive. That’s why my life is different; that’s why my ministry is different. You can’t have such encounter and then say there’s no God. The problem with those who make noise and tell stories is that they are lacking in power.

The message I have for the young people of this generation is that the best season their lives is their youthful season. Once you’ve lost it, you’ve lost everything, because if the foundation be destroyed, there’s nothing the righteous man can do.
Explaining further, he stated that it is the depth of a foundation that determines the height and durability of a building. Hence, his calling, amongst others, is to help the youths lay a deep and solid foundation for future greatness and stability of youths.

According to him, the foundation determines the height, the strength, the solidity and the durability of a building. “The foundational stage for every young person is their youthful age. Therefore, the youths must find God now or they’ll cry the rest of their lives. He saved me when I was a child, that’s why one of my assignments in life is to help reach out to the young people with the Gospel,” he said.

It is his strong conviction that if “we can get young people saved and built them up in the Lord, then cultism will fade out in our communities.” This is the kind of zeal that led him to conceive the Uyo Night of the Spirit, an all night life-transformation programme on 28 February, 2025, at Ibom Hall by 8pm till dawn.
